Improved socio-economic situation of families through strengthened community-based structures and and local partnerships in Georgia

The project aims to improve the social functioning of 120 vulnerable families with children living in the Tsalenjikha municipality—specifically in the town of Jvari and the village of Potskhoetseri.
Additionally, the initiative focuses on strengthening local governmental and non-governmental organizations working in the field of child welfare to support the development of a more robust family support system within the municipality.
Key Activities
As part of the project, collaborations are planned with six public schools operating in Tsalenjikha to:
- Raise awareness on child rights and protection.
- Prevent violence against children through educational outreach.
- Foster cooperation between educational institutions and social support services.

Supporting the Development of Small Group Homes in Georgia
In 2013, with financial support from UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund), a Mother and Child shelter service was established in Georgia. The purpose of the service is to provide temporary shelter and a range of support services to mothers (primarily young, single parents) and their children under the age of 10 who are at risk of family separation to strengthen their ability to function independently.
